Welcome

Welcome to Corpus Christi Catholic Primary – a vibrant, welcoming and multicultural school in the heart of Bensham, Gateshead. We are a diverse community, where we appreciate and celebrate each other’s differences. We encourage everyone to be the best they can be by ‘letting their lights shine’ and in response, children grow, achieve and thrive.

We offer a highly ambitious curriculum from Nursery to Year 6. At our recent Ofsted Inspection in November 2023, we were graded ‘Outstanding’ in every single area as well as for overall effectiveness. This means that our school provides the highest quality education and care for all children.

Watch our videos to see our school in action! Feel free to contact us if you have any questions or would like to arrange a visit to our school.

Our Values

At Corpus Christi Catholic Primary, we ‘let our lights shine brightly’. In God’s love and inspired by our faith, we always show kindness and respect to others, whilst working as hard as we can, to be the best that we can be.

Letters

We send out letters and newsletters on a regular basis to keep parents up to date with school decisions and progress.

At Corpus Christi, we keep our parents, carers and families informed about upcoming events and celebrations of our children's successes. We regularly publish a newsletter, which is sent out electronically to all of our parents and is made available on this page. We also use Social media to share the very latest events, learning and religious celebrations that take place within our school.

Volcanoes!

Year 3 have learnt lots about Volcanoes. They have thought about how volcanoes are formed as well as why might people choose to be near a dangerous volcano. They have also studied Mount Etna, an active volcano in Sicily. Take a look at the children’s excellent work!

History in Summer Term

This Summer term we have done some excellent History work. In Year 1 we have learnt all about seasides in the past. We first explored pictures of past and present day seasides. We noticed that a seaside in the past had very different features compared to the seaside we might visit today. We then started […]
