Inspection Reports

OFSTED and Section 48 reports about our school.

Ofsted is the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills. Ofsted regulate and inspect schools and colleges to seek improvement in the service. They carry out large number of inspections and regulatory visits in England and publish their finding on their website.

Our school was inspected by OFSTED on 15/16th November 2023.

They graded our school as ‘OUTSTANDING’ in every single area as well as for overall effectiveness. This means that our school provides the highest quality education and care for all children.

Here are some of the highlights that the Inspectors said about our school:

  • Leaders are extremely ambitious for all pupils.
  • Pupils thrive at this school.
  • Children make an exceptional start in Early Years
  • Pupils’ behaviour is exceptional – they are kind, respectful and articulate.
  • Pupils have clear ambitions for the future and believe that the school will help them to achieve their dreams.
  • The school has introduced a highly ambitious curriculum.
  • The school ensures that pupils with SEND are provided with all they need to be successful.
  • Lessons are engaging.
  • Staff are experts in teaching reading.
  • The relationships between staff and pupils are warm and nurturing.
  • The school goes beyond the expected in ‘everyday’ provision for pupils.
  • Praise and encouraging language are part of every conversation – pupils brim with pride as staff praise them.

As you may be aware, it is much harder now for schools to achieve the top judgement than it used to be and very few schools are judged as ‘Outstanding’ in all areas – only approximately 17%.  So, this is a huge achievement for our whole school community.

Visit from the librarian

Nursery thoroughly enjoyed a visit from our local librarian called Joanne. She told the children all about her role at Gateshead library, she even told them how their grown ups could sign up to the library for free and borrow some books regularly. This sounded very excited and something the children were really excited about. […]

Leading on repeats in Nursery

This half term in Nursery, the children have been building on their previous pattern experiences and developing greater independence in their patterning skills. Through a range of engaging songs, rhymes and hands-on activities, the children had many opportunities to explore and practise creating patterns independently.
