Welcome

Welcome to Corpus Christi Catholic Primary – a vibrant, welcoming and multicultural school in the heart of Bensham, Gateshead. We are a diverse community, where we appreciate and celebrate each other’s differences. We encourage everyone to be the best they can be by ‘letting their lights shine’ and in response, children grow, achieve and thrive.

We offer a highly ambitious curriculum from Nursery to Year 6. At our recent Ofsted Inspection in November 2023, we were graded ‘Outstanding’ in every single area as well as for overall effectiveness. This means that our school provides the highest quality education and care for all children.

Watch our videos to see our school in action! Feel free to contact us if you have any questions or would like to arrange a visit to our school.

Our Values

At Corpus Christi Catholic Primary, we ‘let our lights shine brightly’. In God’s love and inspired by our faith, we always show kindness and respect to others, whilst working as hard as we can, to be the best that we can be.

Letters

We send out letters and newsletters on a regular basis to keep parents up to date with school decisions and progress.

At Corpus Christi, we keep our parents, carers and families informed about upcoming events and celebrations of our children's successes. We regularly publish a newsletter, which is sent out electronically to all of our parents and is made available on this page. We also use Social media to share the very latest events, learning and religious celebrations that take place within our school.

Our team were amazing in the group stages working brilliantly together to score 24 goals while only conceding 4. We moved onto the semi-final where we were narrowly beat. Although the children were […]

World Bee day 2026

The children celebrated World Bee day 2026, we began by reading a story about bees and then watched and discussed a video about how bees make honey. The children were fascinated that there was a Queen bee found in each honey bee colony. Lots of our children said they had tasted honey before and shared […]

Visit from the librarian

Nursery thoroughly enjoyed a visit from our local librarian called Joanne. She told the children all about her role at Gateshead library, she even told them how their grown ups could sign up to the library for free and borrow some books regularly. This sounded very excited and something the children were really excited about. […]
