World Maths Day in Nursery

A post in our latest news section.

On World Maths Day Nursery enjoyed playing a roll and colour dice game. They took turns to roll the dice consisting of numerals and representations up to 3.

When the dice landed on a numeral or a representation, the children shouted out the number and then found the animal with the corresponding numeral on their sheet and coloured it in.

The children waited patiently and cheered on their friends until it was their turn to roll the dice once again. The children giggled as the dice landed on a number that they had already coloured in and were eager for their turn again to try and roll a number that they hadn’t rolled before.

Towards the end of the game the children could be heard identifying what number they needed to roll and shared the joy when one of their friends rolled a number they needed. We continued playing the game until all children had coloured in all of the animals on their sheets by rolling the corresponding numerals.
