Water Safety

A post in our latest news section.

Year 6 recently took part in an important summer water safety lesson provided by Northumbria Police, aimed at raising awareness of the dangers of playing in or near open water.

During the session, pupils learned about the risks associated with rivers, lakes, and coastal areas, as well as practical advice on how to stay safe and what actions to take if they or others find themselves in difficulty.

To reinforce their learning, the children designed informative posters to share with Year 5, helping to spread these vital safety messages across the school community.

This experience strongly supports pupils’ personal development and wellbeing by building their awareness of risk, encouraging responsible decision-making, and equipping them with the knowledge and confidence to keep themselves and others safe.
