Washington Wetlands

A post in our latest news section.

As part of their Science lessons, Reception class visited Washington Wetlands Centre. The children had a fantastic day, we started our day with pond dipping and seeing what creatures we would find in the pond. We tried hard to use an identification chart to find out their names.

We then went to see the otters and flamingos get fed and listened to the guide tell us all about them.

After lunch, we went scavenging for mini beasts, and sorted them into ‘legs’ and ‘no legs’. We then used identification charts to see what they were.

Just before home, we visited the play park as a reward for their good behaviour.

Washington Wetland Centre kindly issued all children with a free family pass to go back with their families.
