This half-term Year 3 have been learning how to carry out Scientific enquiries. They have been practising thinking of a question which they could investigate and develop an investigation around. The children have then made a prediction about what they think will happen and then they have written a method for their investigation. After carrying out their enquiry the children have then examined the evidence and results and have formed their own conclusion about what they have discovered.
One of Year 3’s favourite investigations was testing 2p coins to see which substance from a choice of cola, tomato sauce, lemon juice and white vinegar cleaned the coin the best. The class was very excited to see that lemon juice made the coin sparkling and it almost looked brand new.
