The children in Year 3 have completed a Design and Technology project making Cushions using textiles. The children learned about different types of stitches, and then they made their own simple designs. They chose the colour of the felt they would like to make their cushion from, and the shape that they wanted to make it. The children then stitched two pieces of felt together to make the cushion and they stuffed it to give it shape. Finally the children decorated their cushion using patches and applique. Everyone was thrilled with the results. To complete the project, the children evaluated their finished model and they said what they had done well and what they would improve if they made another cushion.
