In Dance lessons this half-term Year 3 have been learning to create a dance, moving like a machine or a robot. We linked this work to our English text ‘The Iron Man’ by Ted Hughes. The children were great at making jerky, robotic movements and they enjoyed making themselves move like electrical appliances they have at home. Once the children had mastered the movements themselves they got into groups of four and made up a dance to show a working machine, and then a machine that was breaking down. Finally the children put their dance to music and they enjoyed watching each others dances.
