Good Neighbours

This past half-term, Year 1 have been learning about how to be a good neighbour. At first, we thought about who are neighbours are. Year 1 mentioned their next door neighbours, the person they sit next to in class and the children in our school. We quickly learnt that we have neighbours in different countries, all over the world, who we should help! We discussed how we can be a good neighbour- being kind, helping others, donating food, donating money, sharing our toys. Year 1 had fantastic ideas! As we worked through the topic, we listened to the story of the Good Samaritan. Year 1 knew straight away who the good neighbour was in the story and could clearly explain why the Samaritan was a good neighbour. To end the topic, Year 1 gathered together to reflect on what we have learnt and what we can continue to do to ensure we are good neighbours to everyone. Year 1 worked so hard in this unit, and they are all super neighbours- well done Year 1!
