Corpus Christi

Recently we held a French Culture Day in school to promote a love of French, as this is the modern foreign language children study in KS2 at Corpus Christi. The children came to school wearing something red, white and/or blue and spent the day learning about different aspects of French culture like food, art, landmarks and which sports are popular in France. In KS2 the children looked at maps of France and located Paris the capital as well as other important cities. In KS1 the children coloured in flags. We also watched some clips of children living in France on BBC Bitesize to find out how their days are similar and different to ours. The children also had an opportunity to practise some of their French vocabulary, phonics and grammar, and it is wonderful to see how good they are getting at pronouncing different words and phrases.
