Electricity

A post in our latest news section.

In Science this half term Year 6 have been studying Electricity.

We began by going over some of our learning from Year 4, in particularly looking at scientific symbols for different electrical components. Once we had familiarized ourselves with these we then began to built our own simple circuits, to make a bulb light and a buzzer buzz. We had to troubleshoot some of our circuits, which was all part of our learning process.

We then put together all of the skills we have learnt this halt term about electricity, voltage and circuits to create a working prototype of a fan. We used our knowledge of building circuits and our knowledge on voltage and switches to ensure the prototype worked and could be switched on and off as well as being able to change speeds.

A fantastic start to science in Year 6!
