Drawing Comic Characters at Art Club

A post in our latest news section.

This half term children from Years 3 and 4 have been attending an after school art club. The children are learning how to make comic characters, and settings for them to live in. We have been looking at the Beano Comic for inspiration and the children have had lots of fun inventing their characters. To begin with they started by thinking of questions they could ask a a character to find out out about them, and then they drew a stick person before expanding it to add the character’s features. Next the children studied facial features and practised drawing different types of faces. Last week they painted their character and they have now moved onto creating a town or environment for their character to live in.
