Careers and Aspirations Week

A post in our latest news section.

This week has been Careers and Aspirations week in school. Year 2 were visited by Mrs McNeil who is a midwife. She told us all about how a baby grows inside it’s mother’s womb and used different foods to show how it changes in size. She also told us how a baby gets its food. We got to ask her lots of questions such as, Why did you decide to become a midwife? And Is there anything that a baby should not eat? We were also visited by Mr Robinson, who is a Financial Advisor. He told us a story about some monkeys who wasted all of their bananas and were helped by some bears. They learnt how to save bananas to make them last longer. He then told us some information about his job: he helps lots of people to learn how to look after their money. If we want to work in finance, we need to work hard in Maths and have to be good at listening. It was really interesting to hear about these different careers.
