This term, Year 2 delivered a fantastic assembly all about protecting our environment, with a special focus on plastic pollution.
After reading the inspiring story We Are Water Protectors, the children became passionate about looking after our planet and wanted to help spread awareness about the importance of protecting our environment. They worked hard to create and present an assembly that helped the rest of the school understand why our environment is so important and how plastic pollution can harm our rivers, oceans and wildlife.
During the assembly, the children shared ways that everyone can help reduce plastic pollution, including recycling, reusing items where possible and reducing the amount of single-use plastic we use each day. They spoke confidently and enthusiastically, encouraging others to make small changes that can have a big impact on our world.
To continue spreading this important message, each child created an informative poster with ideas and tips for stopping plastic pollution. These posters will be displayed around the school to raise awareness and remind us all of the role we can play in protecting the environment.
We are incredibly proud of Year 2 for their thoughtful work and for using their voices to inspire others to care for our planet. Well done, Year 2! 🌍♻️💙
