Corpus Christi

In Year 1 we have learnt all about toys from the past. To help us in our understanding, we had a visit from That History Bloke. Richard came in and told us all about a Victorian childhood and the toys the children would have played with. We dressed up as Victorian school children and coal miners. We then looked at some artefacts such as a miner’s lamp, washing dolly, and a miners’ pick. After that, we had the opportunity to play with lots of Victorian toys. We handled the artefacts so carefully and were very sensible with all of the toys. Our favourites were the cup and ball, spinning top, and zoetrope’s. Well done Year 1!
