Voice for Equality

A post in our latest news section.

On Tuesday and Wednesday we were visited by Sam from the Anne Frank trust.

We first thought about what the word equality meant to us and agreed to us it meant that people are treated the same no matter who they are. We also learnt some other key words which would be key for our learning such as prejudice, discrimination, stereotype and antisemitism.

We then spent a lot of time learning about Anne Frank and he life, particularly focusing on how antisemitism and other being prejudice effected her life and the life of those around her.

After this we thought about some other types of discrimination that we could teach other people about to raise awareness such as racism, homophobia, ageism and gender inequality.

We created some fantastic poems, speeches and lessons that we could use to teach other people about equality, types of discrimination and being prejudice.
