Settling into Reception

The children have settled into Reception so well. They have enjoyed their maths lessons using and exploring numbers up to 5. In Phonics, they have been learning their letter sounds and learning how to blend letter sounds to read CVC words. They have enjoyed developing their fine motor skills by completing lots of activities designed to improve the strength in their fingers.
They enjoyed a visit to our Church to see where the Priest baptises the babies and they enjoyed a walk to Saltwell Park to find signs of Autumn. They love their Fitness Fridays – they have bikes, soft play and PE. The children are also enjoyed having their school lunch in the dinner hall with the rest of the school.
