Safer Internet Day
A post in our latest news section.

This week in Computing, we have had some great conversations around the theme of this year’s Safer Internet Day ‘Too good to be true.’
In Years 5 and Year 6, we talked about phishing and how cyber criminals use pop ups and hyperlinks to capture personal data. We looked at what the tell tale signs are of phishing scams and what we should do if we think it is a scam.
In Years 3 and 4, we introduced what phishing is and how this can also happen in games like Roblox. We used Dojo Islands, a safe gaming environment, to look at how we can keep ourselves safe online and how we can share information without giving out our personal data.
Here is also a great article from Vodafone, explaining how to keep your children and young people safe online and away from phishing experiences, especially as almost one million British children were scammed online in the last year: https://www.vodafone.co.uk/newscentre/features/six-tips-avoiding-scams-young-person/
I hope you find this information useful!
