In Design Technology this week we have been practising our chopping and grating skills in preparation for cooking our three course meal next week.

We practised using the claw grip and bridge hold to chop some firmer vegetables such as celery, carrots and potatoes. We used our dominant hand to hold the knife and do the chopping and our non-dominant hand to secure the vegetable.

We also tried grating carrots, again using our dominant hands to do the action and the non-dominant hand to hold the grater.

Next time we are in the kitchen we will be cooking our chosen dishes!
