In our Science lessons Year 1 have been exploring their five senses. We investigated our sense of sight by drawing from observation. We used magnifying glasses to look really closely at all the details of the objects and then described in detail what we could see. The next sense that we explored was our sense of hearing. Year 1 learnt that we hear with our ears and that sounds are made up of vibrations. We investigated lots of sounds and described if they were loud or quiet. Our favourite sense to explore was definitely our sense of taste. Year 1 loved tasting the different flavours and used key vocabulary such as sweet, salty, sour, and bitter to describe the tastes. The salty crisps and the sweet strawberry jam were definitely Year 1’s favourite foods. We all agreed that the lemon juice was very sour!
