Cultural Diversity Day in Year 3 – India and Bollywood Dancing

A post in our latest news section.

Today was Cultural Diversity Day in school and Year 3 have been learning about India. The children found out about some major cities in India and the religions of the people who live there. They linked the work to our Opening Worlds Geography and History curriculums from earlier this year, when the children studied the Indus Valley and the River Indus, and the Himalaya mountains. The children discovered that India has lots of different climates and they found out that it is the only country which has both tigers and lions. The children then made an Indian flag and finally they had great fun learning a Bollywood dance. There was some fantastic movers and the teacher said they were the best Year 3’s she’d ever taught it to!
