Bishop Stephen’s visit

A post in our latest news section.

It was a pleasure to welcome Bishop Stephen to our school this week. He enjoyed having a tour and popped in to each class to say hello. Our year 5 and 6 children took the opportunity to pose a number of questions to him which helped them to get to know him better – they also found out lots about the Bishop’s role. Next, Bishop Stephen joined Years 2, 3 & 4 in a Celebration of the Word which reflected on Pope Francis’ letter, Laudato ‘Si. Bishop Stephen is passionate about caring for God’s world; his reflection encouraged us each to do one small thing to make a big difference. Our Year 4 children each wrote a letter in response to Laudato ‘Si in which they explained how they are trying to ‘live wisely, think deeply and love generously.’ Children in Years 2 and 3 each made their own promise to look after our common home. Before he left us, Bishop Stephen was treated to several songs from our fabulous school choir whilst he enjoyed a cup of tea with some of our school community.

We really enjoyed our time with Bishop Stephen and we hope he comes back to see us again some time.
