In Art this half term Year 6 have been studying a variety of different artists and finding out about their differing style of art.
We starter our journey with David Hockney a famous British artist. In our first lesson we analysed his famous painting ‘My Parents’ giving our opinion and thoughts about the piece. We then looked at another of Hockney’s styles which is called ‘Joining’. It involved creating an image and then cutting it up into tiles before putting it back together, often in a different way than the original images.
We began by sketching out designs on grids before using pastel to recreate Hockney’s bold colour palette. Once we had created our image we then cut it up into tiles before putting it back together.
