Year 1 have let their creativity shine in our Art lessons this half term! We began the unit by exploring different kinds of lines. We learnt about horizontal, vertical, diagonal, wavy and cross-hatched lines. To help develop our understanding of lines, we studied the work of Bridget Riley and discussed what type of lines she uses in her artwork. Year 1 then put all their learning into practice. We started off doing one-line drawings, before adding in the details using the different types of lines we learnt about. Year 1 then progressed to drawing from observation. We had a lovely autumnal set up in the classroom to inspire our drawings. Take a look at our wonderful artwork. As you can see, we have fantastic artists in Year 1!
